Janice Starzyk is a senior space industry executive whose career has traced the arc of the modern space economy — from its government-led origins through the commercial revolution that is reshaping every part of the sector today. She founded Starzyk.Space LLC to bring that accumulated perspective to founders, boards, and investors at the moments where strategic clarity matters most.

Her professional record spans the full breadth of the industry: senior leadership roles in commercial launch services, satellite manufacturing and operations, space-services companies, and the federal programs — DoD, NASA, USSF, NRO, SDA — that remain the sector's anchor customers. Few advisors can speak fluently across all of those domains simultaneously. That fluency is the practice's core asset.

In Washington, she has worked at the intersection of commercial ambition and institutional reality — navigating export control, licensing, acquisition reform, and the policy frameworks that determine which programs get funded and which doors open. Her relationships span Capitol Hill, the Pentagon, and the commercial boardroom.

She has counseled companies at critical inflection points: pre-Series A founders deciding whether to pursue government contracts, established primes repositioning for the new commercial paradigm, and international operators entering the U.S. regulatory environment for the first time. The common thread is complexity — situations where experience outperforms analysis alone.

Her commentary and analysis are regularly sought by SpaceNews, Aviation Week, Via Satellite, and the Washington Space Business Roundtable. She serves as a panelist, keynote speaker, and trusted voice on the forces shaping capital, policy, and competition in the space economy.

"Few advisors can speak fluently across launch, satellite, federal markets, and Washington policy simultaneously."

Satellite & Space Services

Constellation economics, downstream services, and the business architecture of next-generation orbital infrastructure.

Federal Markets

DoD, NASA, and civil space customer strategy — including SDA, NRO, USSF, and the commercial-pull frameworks reshaping procurement.

Policy & International

U.S. space policy, export control, international partnerships, and the licensing terrain that gates ambitious programs.

How we work

Discreet

Confidentiality is the practice's first principle. The most useful counsel is the kind no one else hears.

Independent

No conflicts, no retainers from competing parties, no advice shaped by another agenda.

Selective

A small number of engagements per year, taken on where the work meets a meaningful inflection point.
